Allow by Prompt

This section provides instructions to configure connection security through prompting. Host addresses that attempt connection that are not authorized through the Xauth cookie or allowed by address, can be authorized if the recipient (user) approves the transaction. If the user denies the connection, it will be rejected.

Allowing by Prompt

  1. Open the X-Win32 Configuration window. See Start Manual Configuration or Start Wizard Configuration.

  2. Select the Security tab.

  3. By default, the option to allow by prompt is checked. This gives you the option to allow or deny attempted connections that were not authorized through the Xauth Cookie or as an allowed host address.

Allow by Prompt Constraints

To have a host permanently allowed, it must be added to the host list. For more information, see Allow by Address.

This option is recommended only for advanced users.
