This section provides instructions to configure connection security through prompting. Host addresses that attempt connection that are not authorized through the Xauth cookie or allowed by address, can be authorized if the recipient (user) approves the transaction. If the user denies the connection, it will be rejected.
Open the X-Win32 Configuration window. See Start Manual Configuration or Start Wizard Configuration.
Select the Security tab.
By default, the option to allow by prompt is checked. This gives you the option to allow or deny attempted connections that were not authorized through the Xauth Cookie or as an allowed host address.
If Prompt for connections is not checked, all connections that are not pre-authorized will be rejected without notice. For more information about pre-authorization, see Allow by Address and Allow by Xauth Cookie.
If Prompt for connections is checked, the following window will open for every new connection that is not listed in Allow by Address.
The checkbox for Always do this will automatically allow or deny clients for the same host, corresponding to whether Yes or No was selected, for the current instance of X-Win32 only.
To have a host permanently allowed, it must be added to the host list. For more information, see Allow by Address.
This option is recommended only for advanced users.
