OpenGL support
OpenGL support (via the GLX Extension for the X Window System) was added to X-Win32 in version 5.3.1.
The GLX Extension allows X Client applications to render 3D OpenGL graphics on your X-Win32 machine from any remote host on the network. Note that, unlike on Linux or UNIX, remote applications using the GLX Extension under X-Win32 are fully accelerated by the OpenGL graphics driver in your Windows machine; this gives a major performance advantage when using X-Win32 versus Linux on the desktop.
Our customers report successfully using X-Win32’s OpenGL support with the following applications:
- CATIA V4
- CATIA V5
- Ansoft/Maxwell PostProzessor
- ABAQUS
- EarthVision
- UniGraphics
- ...and many more!
NOTE: X-Win32’s OpenGL support was significantly improved and expanded in X-Win32 7.1 and later.
