Sunnyvale – March 22, 2010: StarNet Communications of Sunnyvale, California, a leading developer of Windows/Linux/UNIX connectivity solutions, today announced it has added a FIPS-140 compliant Secure Shell (SSH) module to its flagship X-Win32 2010 PC X server.
FIPS-140 is a standard developed by the U.S. National Institute for Standard and Technology for software containing encryption algorithms such as found in SSH client software. X-Win32 uses SSH encryption to safely tunnel data between PCs and remote Unix and Linux server over vulnerable Internet connections. The FIPS-140 standard is required by many United States government agencies and contractors, especially in the areas of defense and aerospace.
Support was also added in X-Win32 2010 for the 3Dconnection SpaceExplorer mouse, a 31-button device used by many engineers in automotive and other high-end CAD/CAE markets.
X-Win32 2010 lists at $285.00 (commercial) in volume 1-10. Maintenance is included with the product. Additional volume discounts are available as well as special pricing for government and educational institutions.
