RENDER Extension Support

It is very easy to see the improvements that the RENDER Extension makes in the visual appearance of graphics, even in simple applications, so we have put together two Flash screenshots below to help you see how much nicer X-Win32 8 looks compared to X-Win32 7.1 and earlier.

Detailed Comparison

Desktop icons
- Notice how the edges of the icons are smooth and each icon label has a clean drop shadow in X-Win32 8.
- Compare this to the jagged edges of the Trash icon and the fuzzy text in X-Win32 7.1.
Konqueror button bar
- Notice how the disabled icons on the left are smoothly grayed out in X-Win32 8.
- Compare this to the black and gray dot pattern displayed in X-Win32 7.1.
Highlighting of the word Konqueror
- Notice how the word Konqueror is highlighted around the edges in X-Win32 8.
- Compare this to the white dots around the word in X-Win32 7.1.
Taskbar icons
- Notice how smooth the edges of the taskbar icons are in X-Win32 8.

- Notice how there is more text on each taskbar entry in X-Win32 8; text is more readable with the RENDER Extension at a normal size, so KDE is using that normal size with X-Win32 8.
