How Can I Upgrade to the Currrent Version?

If your X-Win32 or Recon-X license is currently covered by a Maintenance contract, you can upgrade to the latest version. Simply enter your license key in the appropriate box. If your license can be upgraded, the latest version will be downloaded. To find out which version is available from this page, submit a blank key.

How do I find my license key?

Your license key was included in the email that was sent to you when you purchased your license.  If you no longer have this email, it is still possible to find your license key.

  • If you have version 8.0 or later, read these instructions.
  • Otherwise, if you have a floating (or concurrent) license, your license key will be displayed in the "License" tab in X-Config.  Copy that key to the box above.
  • Otherwise, if you have installed version 5.4.4 or later, you may obtain the license key from the Registry by using these steps:
    1. Click "Start", then "Run...", then "regedit".
    2. In the left navigation pane, go to My Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ StarNet \ X-Win32 \ [latest version].
    3. In the right value pane, double-click on "LicenseKey".  (If LicenseKey isn't in the right pane, go back to step 2 and navigate toMy Computer \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ StarNet \ X-Win32.
    4. Right-click on the "Value data", and select "Copy".
    5. Paste this into the box above.
