This section provides an overview of the main applications provided by X-Win32: X-Win32 server, X-Config, and Screen Shot.
X-Win32 is an X11 server that enables access to remote machines. The details of the remote connection and the display on your local workstation can be configured through X-Config.
X-Config is the configuration utility program provided with X-Win32. The configuration applications are as follows:
Sessions - connect your local workstation to remote clients, migrate sessions from earlier version of X-Win32, update passwords
Window - interface your local monitor to remote applications.
Network - acquire addresses to communicate with the remote clients.
Input - interface your local keyboard, mouse, and numerical keypad to remote applications.
Font - fonts that remote applications can use on your local workstation.
Security - authentications and prompts to allow remote hosts to connect.
The screen display can be captured and saved. Three formats are available: the entire screen, the selected window, the selected region. The screen shots are saved as PNG files.
