About Font

For the remote application, fonts are external applications that are accessed from the local workstation, not the remote host where the application resides. X-Win32 provides fonts to remote applications through a font path. The default settings, and the fonts provided by X-Win32 when first installed, are shown below.

To conserve disk space, not all fonts are installed with X-Win32. Additional fonts can be downloaded from StarNet Communications. For more information, see Fonts and Applications.

The available configurations are as follows:

When an application searches for a specific font, it searches from the top down. The queue of the path can be manually adjusted to support applications.

Fonts that are no longer needed can be removed from the Font Path.

Fonts that are available on your local workstation can be added to the Font Path.

A host that provides fonts can be added to the Font Path.

The defaults settings can be restored - fonts that were added will be removed, fonts that were originally provided by X-Win32 will be restored to the Font Path.

To save configuration changes, they must be applied before leaving the Font menu. This does not apply to restoring the defaults. When defaults is executed, the restoration is immediately saved, and the previous font configurations are erased.

To accommodate international languages, the keyboard interface can be configured appropriately. For more information, see About Input.
