This section provides information about communicating from the X-Win32 server (local workstation) to the remote host (client).

To send data to your local display, the remote host and the local workstation need to communicate - each machine must know the other machine's IP address.
Automatic is the default setting for Display Address. With automatic, the IP addresses between your workstation and the remote host are exchanged. If communication is through a firewall, IPSmart is recommended.
IPSmart is used to acquire and deliver the address of the X-server (your local workstation), instead of the firewall between your X-server and the remote host. This creates a direct, functional connection between your workstation and the remote host. The remote host receives the IP address of your workstation, instead of the firewall enabling you to seamlessly pass your computer's display to the remote connection.
Override is for manually entering the host address, which is used to ensure the remote host the correct address to communicate with the local workstation. Typically, this is only necessary when there are two network interface cards (NIC) installed on the workstation, and the choice is to use the NIC that is normally not used - each card will have a separate IP address.
The display number is the port through which the remote host sends the display information to the local monitor.
By default, the base display number is set to zero, which can be otherwise specified by the user or a remote host.
The display number should match the display number specified in the command line of the session (rsh or rexec) or the preferred number of the remote host.
The Base Display Number can be added to the command line of a session by using the @DNUM@ variable through manual configuration, or by editing an existing session. The variable @DISPLAY@ will append @MYIP@:@DNUM@ (DisplayAddress:BaseDisplayNumber) to the command.
