Migrating Connections to a New Machine

X-Win32 stores all session and configuration information in XML based files stored locally on the computer. In previous versions of X-Win32, most information was stored in the Windows registry which complicated the process of migrating the sessions to a new computer.

To migrate your sessions to a new computer is to simply copy the contents of the Sessions folders into the new computer’s Sessions folder.

If you are currently running version 7 or below and you would like to migrate these sessions to version 8 on a new computer, the easiest way to do this is by following these simple steps:

Install X-Win32 8.1 on your old machine. (You do not need to register the version on your old machine)
Open X-Config
On the Sessions tab, click the Migrate button
Follow the steps in the Migration Wizard to migrate your sessions over.
Copy the session folders to your new machine.
