Advanced License Setup
In X-Win32 2011 and later, licenses are installed to the local user directory in a file named License.lic by default. Advanced users may wish to install multiple licenses (for example to connect to multiple license servers) or install a license for all users. In this case, simply add a second *.lic in the license directory to make another license available
Notes on Licenses
- Activating a license from X-Win32 will overwrite the existing license.lic file in the local user directory
- Each license is contained in a file ending in the
*.licfile extension. - Typically, there is only 1 license per file
- Node locked licenses are always used before floating licenses
- X-Win32 scans licenses in alphabetical order according to the file name. Then the license directories are scanned in the following order
- To randomize the order in which licenses are used set
RLM_PATH_RANDOMIZEto 1 in the Windows Environment Variables.
For further documentation on the RLM licensing system, please see the RLM End User Manual
Floating License File Format
Floating license clients must connect to a license server. The client license file is one line and can be created by hand. The format is as follows:
HOST hostname 00000000 port
Where hostaname is the host name of the license server and port is the port number the license server is listening on (by default 5053).
