Enable XDMCP using gdmsetup


On many versions of Red Hat Linux and other versions of Unix which have the GNOME desktop environment, enabling XDMCP only takes a few clicks.

RHEL 4 and below

  1. Log in as root
  2. Open a terminal
  3. Type gdmsetup (a dialog box will appear)
  4. Click on the XDMCP tab
  5. Check the Enable XDMCP box
  6. Press Close

RHEL 5

  1. Log in as root
  2. Open a terminal
  3. Type gdmsetup (a dialog box will appear)
  4. Click on the Remote Tab
  5. Change Style to Plain
  6. Press Close
