FastX Centralized License Server Set-Up

Installing a Centralized License Server

If you have multiple installations of the FastX Server, you may want to centrally manage all the licenses in one location.  FastX’s use of the rlm licensing system makes it simple!

The FastX Server ships with its own copy of the rlm licensing server.

Option 1: Nominate a FastX Installation as the License Server

On the first machine

  • Install the FastX Server
https://www.starnet.com/download
  • Run the post install script
FastX 2 Users: /usr/lib/fastx2/install.sh
or
FastX 3 Users: /usr/lib/fastx/3/install.sh
  • Prompt:
Do you have a license server on your network? > N
  • Prompt:
Would you like to activate a license now? > Y
  • Enter in your activation key
  • Make sure the proper ports are open in your firewall (default tcp:5053 and tcp:57889)
