Installing a self-signed certificate on Safari

Safari will reject connections with self-signed certificates by default. In order to connect to FastX via the web with Safari when using a self-signed certificate folloow these instructions. Remember self-signed certificates should only be used when testing FastX. Trusted SSL certificates should be used during production.

  1. Open Safari
  2. Navigate to your FastX server webpage https://server.example.com:3443
  3. Safari will display a warning prompt
  4. Click Show Certificate

  5. Check Always Trust “hostname” when connecting to “hostname”

  6. Click Continue
  7. Your certificate should now be installed and you can continue
