FastX 4 Session Sharing

FastX 4.1.33 introduced session sharing to FastX 4. Session sharing is currently on available through the browser client.

*Session Sharing is only available in single window mode.

Sharing a Session

  1. Launch a desktop or a single window mode application
  2. Click on the session sharing icon in the active session to go to the session sharing settings
  3. Enter the username of the shared user and hit enter.
    • User will be listed when done correctly. Select the x icon to remove user
    • Owner can set the permissions for the shared user. By default Viewer is set.
      • Guest – Starts in a lobby in which the owner of the shared session or moderator can admit
      • Viewer – Automatically enters the session as a viewer
      • Make Moderator – Shared user is a moderator. A moderator can take control of the session without needing permission.

Public link Sharing

A user can share their session with a URL link by selecting Public in the Visibility field.

A Copy Link will appear. Click on the Copy Link to copy the shared session link. Then send this link to the desired users.

The owner can set a user to Guest or Viewer. Guest is the default setting.

After Sharing

Admitting a user

Users who are guests or sent to the lobby can be admitted by the owner or a moderator. A user in the lobby will appear in the session sharing settings. Click Admit to allow the shared user to view the session.

Giving Input Control

An owner and moderators can give input control to the session to any shared user. The owner and moderators can also take input control.

To give input control of a session, under Clients in the session sharing setting. Select the drop down link of the desired user and select Give Input.

Send to Lobby

An owner and moderators can send users to the lobby by selecting the drop down link of the desired user and select Send to Lobby. The owner cannot be sent to the lobby.

Edit Username

An owner and moderators can edit connected users’ username by selecting the edit icon of the desired user. Then edit the username and hit enter.
